All was going well until I installed Warcraft 3 (the Frozen Throne expansion to be precise) on the iMac and booted it up only to find there was no sound at all.</p> <p>Thankfully, a quick Google led me to <a href="http://eins.my/play-warcraft-3-and-dota-in-windows-8-developer-preview/" target="_blank">this blog post</a>, in which one clever commenter shared his method of getting the sound working again.</p> <p><strong>The solution</strong> is to download <a href="http://www.garena.com/" target="_blank">Garena</a>, which as far as I can tell is a BattleNET replacement kind of thing.
